This cottage at 2524 St. Charles Avenue was built in 1857 for Sophronie Louise Claiborne, daughter of Louisiana's first governor. Her Creole husband, de Marigny, was President of the Louisiana Senate.

Sentinel Hotel (Elks Lodge; Princeton Building)

Built in 1923 as the Elks Temple, the Princeton Building later housed the WPA, a WWII induction center, and several businesses before being incorporated into the Governor Hotel in 1992 and the Sentinel Hotel in 2012.

Church of Saint-Sulpice

Dubbed the “Cathedral of the Rive Gauche,” Saint-Sulpice is one of the largest churches in Paris. It was constructed sporadically between 1646 and 1745 in the Late Baroque style.

Reed Opera House
Salem, Oregon

Built of brick in an elegant Italianate design, the Reed Opera House was constructed for businessman and politician Cyrus S. Reed in 1869 as an opera house, theater, community hall, and hotel. Today it houses shops and restaurants.

Windsor Ruins

Only 23 crumbling Corinthian columns remain of the largest antebellum Greek Revival mansion in Mississippi. Designed by David Shroder for cotton planter Smith Daniell, the mansion was completed in 1861 as part of a vast plantation.

Oregon State Hospital Historic District

Opened in 1883, the Oregon State Hospital in Salem is a psychiatric hospital based on the Kirkbride philosophy and famed for its starring role in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The district includes the Dome Building (1912) across the street.
