Among the largest medieval parish churches in England. Made a collegiate church in 1908, cathedral in 1918. Much damaged by an air raid, November 1940, leaving body of church unroofed and without arcades.

St Luke's Bombed Out Church

1811-32
The Church of St Luke in Liverpool was constructed 1811-32 and extensively damaged by a bomb in May 1941. Now a roofless shell in a city park, the Grade II listed building stands as a reminder of the destruction of World War II.
