  • Sheldonian Theatre Oxford, England

    RCHM 2. Built in 1664-69 at the cost of Archbishop Seldon to the designs of Wren.

  • Church of St Cross Oxford, England

    Parish church. (RCHM 30). C11-C12 chancel. Mid C13 west tower with top stage of 1464; repaired 1908. North arcade and north aisle rebuilt in mid C15.

    Parish church. (RCHM 40). Probably C12 in origin, the chancel and nave being mainly rebuilt C13; South porch added in C13. In C15 East wall of chancel rebuilt and again in 1833. Church restored 1936-7.

    Parish church. (RCHM 35). Late C13 chancel. South chapel, circa 1330. North and South aisles have arcades rebuilt early in Cl6. West tower, between 1511 and 1531. South porch, warly Cl6. Cl7 and C18 monuments.

    Founded in 1432 to educate Catholic clergy, who were required to pray for "all souls" in purgatory, All Souls is now home to post-doctorate fellows of Oxford University.
