The chimneys have moved apart slightly over the 350 years or so that they were built. Ashdown House was designed as a hunting lodge. The glazed structure with its copper domed roof was where ladies could watch their menfolk hunting deer. The house is now owned by the National Trust and is listed Grade I Link
