Later 19th century. 2-storey Scots Baronial former school (now dwelling house) attached to High Street tenements. Crowstepped gables, with principal frontage at NW end and single storey wing projecting to SW. Stugged, squared and snecked sandstone street elevation, with random rubble side and rear elevations, cement rendered tower, stugged and arrised dressings. NW (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: central entrance door with flanking slit windows, blank panel with hoodmould and window centred above. Circular stair tower at corner to right with slit windows at ground and 1st floors. SW ELEVATION: 3 bays with ground floor window in bay 3 only. Gabled single- storey, single bay wing projecting with central window on NW return and single flue apex stack. SE (REAR) ELEVATION: window to right at ground floor, central window 1st floor. 8-pane timber sash and case windows, 4-pane to slit windows, modern glazing to 1st floor of SW and SE elevations. 2-leaf timber door with Gothic decoration to panels, 2-light fanlight above. Grey slates in diminishing courses to hall roof and conical tower spire with swept eaves.
