John C Hay of Edinburgh, 1889. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical terraced building with shops at ground floor. Bull-faced, squared and snecked granite with polished sandstone ashlar dressings. Stone shopfronts with plain stall-risers, pilasters framing elevation at ground floor, narrow square columns flanking central recessed shop doorways and matching pilasters flanking door to upper floor at centre bay, all with capitals and bases. Cornice above shopfronts, advanced at centre, acting as cornice to central door, architraved, round-arched 2-pane fanlight over bracketted lintel, decorative scrolled brackets supporting balustrade above with fluted dies and ball finials. Cill course at 1st floor, advanced at cills with brackets below in outer bays. Moulded architrave and carved keystone to centre window, each with semicircular pediment carved with Masonic symbol semicircular panel to lintels. Band course at eaves, carved decorative panels at each bay. Modern, cement-rendered 2-storey addition to rear. Plate glass windows to shopfronts, panelled ingoes to doors, timber door to right with panel and glazed upper. Plate glass timber sash and case windows to upper floor. 6-panel door to centre. Pendant lamp on bracket at central door, profiled gutter at eaves, mutual multi-flue stack shared with tenement to NW.
