18th century, with later alteration. Single storey and attic over concealed basement, 4-bay asymmetrical house with single storey and attic over basement wing projecting to N at W giving L-plan. Random rubble walls with polished and droved ashlar dressings. S (COMMERCIAL STREET) ELEVATION: asymmetrical, entrance door with flanking windows grouped to left of centre and further window in broad bay to outer right. Vertically-boarded timber door with plate glass fanlight above. N (REAR) ELEVATION: 2 bays, single window in bay to left, gabled wing advanced in bay to right, windows centring gable at each floor, square 2-pane fixed-light at basement. E AND W GABLES: single window to right at 1st floor of each. Timber sash and case windows, 4-pane to most openings, 9-pane at left of rear elevation. Purple-grey slate roof with cast-iron gutters and downpipes. Rubble stacks to E and W gables, wallhead stack to E elevation of wing, all coped with circular cans. Cement-rendered skew copes. Random rubble walls at Murray?s Lodberry to E of wing, and at MacBeath?s Lodberry to W of wing.
