Probably 18th century. Long single storey cottage built on falling ground with sloping roof ridge. Whitewashed rubble construction, corrugated metal roof. Gable stack to road elevation, single ridge stack. FRONT ELEVATION: timber lean-to porch to centre right, door to right, 2 windows to left. REAR ELEVATION: single bay addition to centre right, various openings. INTERIOR: not seen.

Rose Cottage is one of very few remaining vernacular buildings of its type on Arran. It may originally have consisted of a cottage and attached byre.
