Built probably in 1880's. 2-storey and attic villa with Scots renaissance detailing, big conical-roofed turreted bay at SW. Stugged ashlar with polished dressings and narrow window margins, elaborate strapwork pediments; single, mullioned and/or transomed windows with plate glass sashes. Bays nearest SW turret have shaped wall-head gables, corbelled bartizan at NW with big conical roof, west-facing canted window with door; south-facing porch on E flank, doorway with shaped head; wall-head stacks; broad-eaved slate roofs. Balustraded high retaining wall to Fenwick Road; square gatepiers.

Similar villas within Glasgow City, eg in Dalzeil Drive. Ground feued by William Gillies and David Law Jnr, and in 1892 by William Brown, Donated to the County Council in 1956. Said to be the first villa built on East side of Fenwick Road (information from Eastwood District Council).
