Johnson Family Cemetery Stonewall, Gillespie County, Texas, USA

Near Stonewall, TX. Kind of an interesting story. See, the only way you can see the grave of our 36th president is via tour bus, which runs until 1700 daily. Kind of a bummer for those of us who arrive after that time. Especially those of us who are sort of obsessed with presidential history. The Johnson family Cemetery is located right on a small river, on the other side of which is the main road. So, in order to get to the cemetery after-hours, one would have to cross said river somehow, walk across the 100-yards or so of field, take the picture, and move out quickly. Needless to say, upon discovery I was pursued. Thank heavens I am relatively fleet of foot, or surely I would now languish in a rural Texas jail-house. The keepers of the LBJ Ranch are doing a great job, but perhaps they might consider changing their slogan of "All the World is Welcome" to "All the World is Welcome -- Don't Be Late or You'll have to Wade Across a Creek for Your Picture."
