Formerly known as: Four Oaks BILLINGBEAR LANE. House. c1700; altered C19; altered and extended mid C20. MATERIALS: Red brick in English and Flemish bond, old tile hipped roofs. PLAN: formerly 2-cell plan with stair turret at rear, now with single storey wings on each side. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and single storey. 3 chimneys with clay pots; centre chimney is tall with moulded top to base and plaque inscribed "DE 1710 HE". Central square dormer. Road east front: 2-bays. Sash windows with glazing bars. Wall was rebuilt in C18; original brickwork on north return. Single bay single storey extension on each side. Right wing has 2-light casement window under segmental brick arch. C20 entrance door in brick porch in angle of left wing. INTERIOR: original dog-leg staircase of 3 flights to attics, with turned balusters, deep moulded handrail and square newels. Round backed brick fireplace on ground floor, one original and one late C18 chimneypiece on first floor.
