Large house, now educational establishment. c1700 and late C18, extended C19, altered C20. Red brick, part Flemish bond, part English bond. Hipped, old tile roof concealed by parapet at front, and part slate roof at rear. Formerly central staircase plan, now with extensions on south. 2 storeys. Several chimneys. North (entrance) front; this front is a facade to a c1700 core. Symmetrical. 5 bays. Projecting plinth; parapet. Sash windows with thin glazing bars and gauged brick heads; stone cills. C20 half-glazed entrance door in centre under C20 pedimented hood on square columns. Added range at rear: gabled slate roof. 4 bays. Sash windows with thin glazing bars on first floor. Two, C20, 4-light casement windows on ground floor with C20 hipped, glazed porch between and C20 hexagonal bay on right-hand corner with casement windows and glazing bars. Interior: early C18 dog-leg staircase of 3 flights with moulded handrail and newel posts; closed string. Early C18 panelled landing on first floor. Panelled shutters to windows.
