Former dairy/stable and hayloft, with barn at right angles. Dairy C18 with earlier roof structure, barn early C19. Thin coursed stone with larger roughly dressed sandstone dressings to doorways and windows, stone slate roofs. Dairy: two storeys, oriented north-east, south-west. Southern elevation faces house: central wide doorway with hayloft doorway above; to left, a doorway (blocked to window) with windows either side all with large stone lintels and thin jamb stones; to right, scattered fenestration with doorway at mezzanine level (blocked to window) possibly with external stair originally (now removed) two windows at different levels to right, and one to left, with inserted doorway to right hand end. Interior: 3 bay king-post roof of former single-aisled structure (aisle now removed) cambered tie-beam chamfered with run out stops, triple pegged mortice holes for brace either end, north end morticed into wall plate south end has mortice for post. Double pegged short king-posts with low-pitched principals, single purlins and mainly oak rafters with riven-oak lathes. This range may have had a bothy for accommodation at the eastern end originally accessed by an external staircase. Barn: 5-bay interior, oriented north-south. Tall opposing basket- arched cart entries set in central bay have multiple tie-stone jambs and finely dressed voussoirs. Square pitching hole in south gable and round owl-hole in apex of north gable, straight joint between the two ranges. Interior: soft wood queen post roof, with tusked purlins tenoned and pegged through the principals, two purlins to each roof pitch. Hayloft occupies the northernmost two bays: floor carried on large oak spine beam, a re-used timber with dovetail mortice for the seating of a tie-beam of a roof truss; this is supported by brick pillars.
