BURFORD AND UPTON HIGH STREET AND SIGNET (West Side) SP2512 (Enlargement) No 78 (The Mermaid 7/134 Inn) and attached 12.9.55 mounting block. GV II Inn. Early site. C17 remodelling, altered and restored 1930s. Rubble with steep-pitched slate roof. Tudor-style. 2 storeys and attic; 2 gabled dormers. 3 windows, outer 3-light, inner 2-light mullioned type (mid-C20); 2 angled bays with parapets and mullion and transom windows (C20) on ground floor flanking central arched C14 doorway. Outside the right-hand window is a worn mounting block. Interior: close spaced joists to ceiling.
