HEMINGFORD ABBOTS WATTS LANE 1. 5140 Springfields TL 28 70 15/6 II 2. Dated on plaques 1600 and 1741 but probably circa 1710. Red brick house. Plain tiled roof with parapet gable and end stacks. Two-storeys and one-storey. Garden facade has four window ranges of hung sashes with moulded glazing bars in cambered arches. West facade with semi-circular headed arch to sealed staircase window. Early C18 single-storey wing with attics to right hand. Red brick. Plain tiled roof with two hipped dormers. Interior ground-floor left-hand room with raised and fielded panelling, moulded cornice and panelled door. Central room with moulding to soffit of main beam; corner cupboard with fluted pilasters, dentil moulding to cornice and shell hood; and dog cupboard below. Closed string staircase with turned balusters. Single-storey modern extension to west.
