BARDNEY HIGHTHORPE TF 16 NW (north side) Southrey 6/11 Cookoo Bush Cottage II 2 cottages, now cottage. Mid C17, early C19, C20. Timber frame, painted red brick casing. Thatched roof with half hipped east end and west end with rendered brick coped gable with kneelers. 2 dormers with C20 casement to right and sliding sash to left. Single ridge stack. Single storey and attic, 3 bay front with lobby entrance. 2 C17 timber frame bays to right, single early C19 bay to left. Doorway to right with plain doorcase and plank door. Doorway flanked by single C20 casements with a 3 light C20 casement beyond to left. Interior room to right with timber framing exposed with quite thick posts, straight braces, sill, wallplate and large bressumer over blocked fireplace. Cupboard door to left of fireplace led originally to ladder for access to attic. Original timber roof filled in by flat ceiling half way up. Room to left of doorway with beamed ceiling, large chamfered bressumer over blocked fireplace, single post in north-east corner and cupboard door to right of fireplace, originally leading to ladder for access to attic.
