Wheatsheaf Cottage Hemingford Abbots, England

  • Comment by Roy Haynes on May 3, 2013

The Wheatsheaf public house was at one time the home of Charles Fordham and his wife Alice (nee Haynes). She was one of 9 children of James Haynes and Alice Nightingale. In the 1840s and 1850s, the village of Hemingford Abbots had a large number of families 'Haynes', 'Haines', or 'Hains' but as nobody could read or write they were probably all related.
