Memorial hall and classrooms. 1883-6 by Sir Arthur Blomfield. Tudor Style. Coursed squared sandstone and ashlar, plain tile roof, moulded coped gables with plain kneelers. Battlemented parapets. Two storeys. North elevation of five bays divided by buttresses with three set-offs. Chamfered first floor band and first floor sill band and band at the base of the parapet. The ground floor has to the centre three bays mullioned and transomed windows of 2-1-2 lights, with arched lights. The right hand bay has two similar cross windows, with segmental relieving arches above. The left hand bay has a blind segmental arch with doorway set in, and a segmental pointed window. The first floor has two cross windows in bays one and three, taller paired 2-light windows with two transoms, under gables, in bays two and four and a 3-light transomed window in bay five. The west elevation has a flight of balustraded steps up to first floor entrances, added in the 1920s. Three doorways and a prominent canted oriel above, moulded underside, 2-3-2 light mullion wndows, flanked by single light transomed windows. Segmental arched 3-light window in the gable. Gabled hoodmould across the whole facade, flanked by polygonal castellated angle turrets with diagonal buttresses. South elevation of five bays divided by buttresses. The right hand bay has a square projection with two 4-light windows, the lower one transomed. Open gothic arcade to left of 1-2-1 with double chamfered arches. Classrooms within have 3-light mullioned windows. The four bays above match the north elevation. Clastellated polygonal south east turret. The interior consists of classrooms to the ground floor and a large assembly hall above with impressive hammer beam roof of five bays with intermediate scissor braced trusses and two tiers of purlins with arched braces. Armorial and figurative stained glass.
