STADHAMPTON SCHOOL YARD SU6098 (West side) 14/153 Nos. 3, 4 and 5

House, now 3 cottages. C17. Partly rendered. Timber framing with brick infill; plain-tile and corrugated-asbestos roofs with C20 brick ridge stack. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys plus attics. No.5 (left) and No.4 (centre) have small casements and C20 porches; 2 old roof dormers remain in No.4. No.3 (right) is rendered with an asbestos roof and has 2 high-level casements. The roof is hipped to right and half-hipped to left above a weatherboarded gable. Further casements and dormers at rear. C20 stone extensions to left of No.5. Interior: No.3 is open to the rafters and formerly served as a chapel to the school. It retains a painted charity board dated 1808.
