    1. Pair of cottages. Painted brick facade panelled below ground floor window and with string courses below coved eaves. Pyramidal tiled roof with fishscale bands. Central chimney. 2 storeys, 1 window each. Upper windows under elaborate pediments which break through eaves. Wrought iron balcony on large brackets. French casements, ground floor sashes. All windows with segmental arches. Doors 4 panels and fanlights.

The raised pavement and wall forms part of a group with Nos 5 to 19 (odd) the South Oxfordshire Technical College Old School and Main Buildings, Nos 43 to 49 (odd) and the wall and gate piers to former Paradise House. Ancastle Cottage, Nos 2 to 36 (even) and the pavement surface in front of Nos 2 to 36 (even) opposite. Ancastle Cottage also forms a group with the entrance walls, piers and gates and the lower lodge of Friar Park.
