4/3 The White Horse(formerly 25.10.51. listed as White Horse Inn under Low Road)

Public house. Late C16/early C17 with mid C19 facade; late C19 single storey wing set forward to right hand side. Timber framed, white brick casing to the left hand gable and most of the facade, the remainder plastered; roof pantiled except for a small section of the front slope which is plaintiled. 2 storeys and attic. 3 cell plan. 3 windows, 2-light small pane casements with hood moulds over; 2 4-light canted bays to ground floor. Lobby entrance: mid C19 gabled porch with ornamental bargeboards and spike finial; 6-panel door, the upper 2 panels glazed; on the hood mould over the door is a small carved wooden horse. Internal stack with 3 linked flues set diamondwise; external stack to right hand gable in matching style. Right hand gable with 2 original 5-light moulded mullion windows at first floor level; left hand gable with 2 leaded windows; original diamond mullion window to rear. Interior with some good exposed timbering; original newel attic stairs; some re-used C16 panelling on first floor.
