    My partner and I visited this house last weekend as part of a photo walk in Roseburg. I was quite smitten with its turret, beautiful restoration, and lush landscaping. As a bonus, we had a brief chat with the owner who happened to be heading out for a bike ride. To explain our paparazzi behavior I said, "We love historic houses." He said, "Me too." Clearly! I thanked him for taking such wonderful care of his home and asked, "it's on the National Register, right?" He said not only that, it's also protected by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Then his young grandson (I presume) informed us, "It's 127 years old." I loved that he knew that - it gave me hope for the future.
