Springside (Wynkook Villa) Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa, USA

Springside is an estate with a large limestone residence located N. of Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa, at the junction of U.S. Route 52 and Ensign Road. It was named for the seven natural springs on the property. The home is a 2½ story building with a hip and gable roof built in 1848 by Bellevue merchant Wm. T. Wynkoop. It is constructed of native limestone. It typifies the Gothic Revival cottage style of the 19th Century. The home was a B & B for many years and is now once again a private residence.
