The newly restored Unitarian Church in Charleston, SC. I met a friend whose father had recently passed, both from this life as well as the baton to continue as the next in line. I discovered the metaphor contained therein as this church had recently undergone a major restoration, passing from what it once was to what it is now, yet retaining a continuity of identity. The Unitarian Church in Charleston is a National Historic Landmark and the oldest Unitarian church in the South, founded in 1772 and rebuilt in 1852.
