Mount, The Lenox, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA

Description
old-fashioned flower design element

This early 20th century residence was the home of Edith Wharton, the first woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. Here, she wrote her first best-selling novel, The House of Mirth. The building was designed by Wharton herself and embodies the design principles that she laid down in her book, The Decoration of Houses, co-authored with Ogden Codman, Jr.
