John Adams, signer of the Declaration of Independence, principal author of the Constitution, first Vice President and second President of the United States, lived here from his birth in 1735 until his marriage in 1764. Built in the saltbox style, much of the original fabric remains. The house is owned by the city and operated as a museum by the Quincy Historical Society.
