McConnell Springs

1775
On this site in June 1775, pioneers William and Francis McConnell named their new settlement Lexington, after hearing news of the Battle of Lexington in the Revolutionary War. It became a park in the 1990s.

Mary Todd Lincoln House
Lexington, Kentucky
Originally built in 1806 as an inn, this Georgian-style brick building was the childhood home of Mary Todd Lincoln, first lady and wife of Abraham Lincoln, from 1832 to 1839. It is now a museum open for tours.

Designed by pastor O. A. Bartholomew, Broadway Christian Church was constructed in a Neoclassical style in 1891.

Built around 1870, this prominent three-story brick Italianate building has housed a hardware store, grocers, law offices, and most recently a Shakespeare & Co. tearoom.

Dr. Thomas Hunt Morgan House

Constructed in 1869 for Dr. Thomas Hunt Morgan, a 1933 winner of the Nobel Prize for genetic research, this house is now an event venue owned by the Blue Grass Trust.
