Church of St John of the SepulchreTempio San Giovanni al Sepolcro Brindisi, Italy
Dating from the end of the 11th century, this unique church in Brindisi was built by a Norman prince after returning from the Crusades. Its round plan is inspired by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Its two portals (11C) are richly carved with mysterious creatures; inside are medieval frescoes (13-15C) and a Roman mosaic floor (1C).
