The monument is of national importance because of its potential to contribute to our understanding of prehistoric settlement and economy. The ditches of the enclosure may be expected to contain valuable material relating to the economy and environment of the site.

The monument comprises the remains of an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date represented by cropmarks visible on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies on locally high ground in arable farmland at around 80m OD. It comprises a sub-circular enclosure of approximately 35-40m in diameter. Its single ditch is some 4m wide. There is a possible entrance in the NE.
The area to be scheduled encompasses the visible remains and an area around them in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a maximum diameter of 90m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
