Wooden door displayed in the tower of the Church of St Michael at the North Gate in Oxford, identified as the door of the cell at Bocardo Prison that held the "Oxford Martyrs" from 1554 to 1555/6. A gold plaque affixed to the door reads: "This door was at the entrance of a cell in the old city gaol Bocardo, called the Bishops Room, wherein the Bishops Cranmer Ridely and Latimer were confined, and from whence they were taken to suffer Martyrdom in the Town Ditch behind the Houses opposite Balliol College, in the reign of Queen Mary."
