There was a memorial service for the July 7 London bombings at St. Paul's Cathedral this afternoon. We saw it on BBC News (we broke down and got a little TV this weekend, now that David's all gainfully employed). The queen, the prime minister, and official representatives of five different faiths were all there.
Of course, that included our good friend, leader of the Church of England, the Archbishop of Canterbury. He led the service, said some really great stuff in his really great accent, and his eyebrows were looking as fantastic as ever. How fun that we got to shake his hand.
On a less self-centered note, they showed the guests coming in and several victims who survived the bombings had no legs. Horrifying and awful.
