I'm happy to report that David's first job interview went great! It was at 6:30 tonight at the very posh Randolph Hotel in downtown Oxford, and David looked so nice in his suit.
The interviewer, an agency recruiter named Gareth (how perfectly English), said that David sounds like a really good fit for two different jobs he has open, both of which are in Oxford. He also said David shouldn't have any trouble finding a job that paid well. Yay!
Gareth also confirmed that there are tons of jobs that pay even better in the town of Reading (pronounced "Redding"), which is only 20 minutes away by train. I'd heard of the town because Kate Winslet is from there. Apparently so many people want to live in Oxford, there is a high demand for jobs and thus companies can often get away with paying less.
So we hope to hear from this guy soon with a good job offer. But even if we don't, David feels so much more confident about the possibility of getting a good job now that he's met with someone who knows what qualifications are needed. He will continue to apply to others and hopefully will find something great soon one way or the other.
So it was a great success, and we're both so pleased. Thanks for all your support and well wishes back home!
