14/26 Towles Country Restaurant formerly farm building range at Home Farm.

GV II

Model farm, now restaurant. Circa 1900 (could be late C19 by N Shaw) converted 1984. Brick with timber, pargetted and tilehung gables, plain tile roof. Single storey, approx 6 x 5 bay quadrangle on roadside with L-shaped wing coming off far-corner now Home Farmhouse, and attached to rear older range. Roadside elevation has gable of taller range at RH end with 4 buttresses to eaves. In centre window starting as 2 x 3 pane window below eaves, in gable continuing as wide 2 x 5 pane window, each side of it pargetting, above tilehanging. To LH 8 bay lower centre section with buttresses between, 6 centre bays have small 3-light casements under eaves, and RH bay has door. At LH end wider bay with small central buttress under narrow brick gable with 3-pane window under eaves, over it 5-pane window with tilehanging above and on sides of gable. Roof hipped round LH end. Round RH that wing has gabled timber porch on moulded posts on brick walls in 2nd bay, 3-light casements in bays either side. Recessed gable arch-way of brick below eaves level with stepped buttresses either side. Over, timber lintel with arched braces and pargetting either side. Tilehung gable with 2-light casement. On ridge above cupola dovecote with tented lead roof. Far bays have double doors.
