Farmhouse, reputed to date from 1560, altered and extended largely during C18 and mid-C19, altered C20. Timber-frame with wattle-and-daub and part painted brick infill, sandstone plinth, roughcast to rear, part hipped slate roofs. Irregular plan, two framed bays aligned east/west formerly with east gable (now hipped), additions to north and south giving lean-tos with cat- slide roof, further addition extending to north at rear, entrances to north and south, main central axial stack. Two storeys, attics and cellar; east front, two 2-light windows to attic, two similar windows flank two closely grouped windows to first floor, two 3-light casement windows flank central 4-light window to ground floor. Framing largely complete though enclosed within later additions. Three square panels to each floor, upper floor projects forward slightly with fragments of mouldings to bressummer supported on decorative brackets with pilaster motifs carved on uprights. Interior contains moulded members to walls of main room on ground and first floor room above, and moulded cross-beamed ceilings.
