Includes Brooks Cottage, Newland Street. Farmhouse, now house. c.1700. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled stone slate roof; brick end stacks with 2 flues each. Central-staircase plan. 2 storeys and attic; symmetrical 5-window range. Bracketed flat hood over late C18 six-panelled door with overlight. Rendered-over-stone flat arches over early C18 cross windows with restored leaded lights. 3 gabled roof dormers with 2-light leaded casements. Brook Cottage to rear left: early C19 one-storey service range of similar materials, remodelled in C20. Interior of Wintles Farmhouse: stone steps to cellar. Plain beams, remodelled open fireplaces and quarter-turn stairs. Collar-truss roof with butt purlins.
