COLSTERWORTH SCHOOL LANE SK 9224-9324 (south side) 11/33 No.7 G.V. II Cottage, formerly schoolmaster's house. Early C18, altered c.1824 when converted to schoolmaster's accommodation, with C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble with small quoins, concrete tiled roof, single red brick gable stack, pent roofed side extension in red brick. 2 storey, 3 bay front having central early C19 closed porch with parapet, semi-circular arched doorway and half glazed door, with to left a 2 light French window and to right a 3 light plain casement. Both openings have segmental stone heads. To first floor 3 two light casements under timber lintels. To the rear a single storey range under catslide roof with C20 fenestration has 2 medieval human head stops incorporated into the fabric. Interior retains 2 simply chamfered beams.
