Consecrated in 1095, this church in the western outskirts of Como is a very fine example of early Romanesque architecture. It has a large columned interior with five aisles and some medieval frescoes in the apse.

The marble cathedral of Como, located not far from the lake shore, dates from the 14th and 15th centuries. Especially in its west facade, it illustrates the transition from Gothic to Renaissance in a surprisingly harmonious way.
