    Possibly the best Gothic parish church in England, the cathedral-sized Beverley Minster spans the Early English, Decorated and Perpendicular Gothic periods.

    Late C18. 3 storeys in red brick. 3 windows, all reglazed, painted stone cill string to 1st floor, and heads with fluted key blocks to windows.

    Beverley's parish church is an impressive building founded in the 12th century and funded by the merchant guilds. Highlights include the painted minstrels' capital and the chancel ceiling depicting the kings of England through the 15th century.

    Built 1714, designed by E Shelton of Wakefield, repairs 1769. Four pairs of coupled Roman Doric columns in stone standing on octagonal base of three steps. Full entablature with triglyphs, guttae etc. Entablature broken over columns.
