Roman Amphitheatre Durrës, Albania

Built probably during the reign of Emperor Trajan, the Roman amphitheater of Durrës dates from the early 2nd century CE and once held up to 50,000 spectators. Inside is an Early Christian chapel with an apse, window, and Byzantine mosaics of saints.
