The monument comprises a standing stone of probable Later Neolithic or Bronze Age date. The stone stands at around 50m OD and would originally have commanded extensive views, now obscured by woodland. The stone is some 1.4m high. It is likely to represent a ritual monument erected in the Later Neolithic or Bronze Age although, once emplaced, it would have formed a focus for ritual activity over a protracted period. The area to be scheduled encompasses the stone and an area around it in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 20m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
