Museum label: "Book, The Holy Bible. This edition of the Bible was published in 1811 and belonged to Cyrus Shepard. He would have used it during the Sabbath School at the Mission, as well as when it was his turn to preach to the "Mission Family." It was passed down to his daughter Alice." The inscription reads: "Cyrus Shepard / Berlin Dec 1812 / While down the stream of life I sail / Christ be my ship & grace my gale / Hope be my anchor while I ride / THIS BOOK: my company o'er the tide."
