Apse with Flying Buttresses
Gothic apse of Chartres Cathedral (c.1220-60) from the east, topped with an angel. An extra row of single flying buttresses supported the apse from the beginning and a third row was added in the 14th century. Chartres Cathedral, Chartres, France.
