LANHYDROCK TREBYAN SX 06 SE 9/87 Lanhydrock War Memorial Club - II

War memorial club. Circa 1920. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends ; the gable ends swept out over kneelers. Gable end stacks and central rear lateral stack with rubble shafts. Plan: Central entrance through a porch, which leads to a front lateral corridor ; the main hall is to rear centre, heated from a central rear lateral stack. At each side there is a cross wing, of 2-room plan, projecting to front, with an unheated room at the front and a room to rear heated from a side stack. Exterior: Single storey, symmetrical front. Central gabled porch with granite buttresses, 4-centred arched chamfered granite doorway with hood mould, double doors with strap hinges. Recessed datestone over the inscription in upper case lettering: LANHYDROCK WAR MEMORIAL CLUB 1914 - 18. Gable with scrolled kneelers. 3 single 9- pane lights to right and left. Each wing has gable end with 4-light mullion and transom window with king mullion, 9-panes each light; ventilator above. The central ridge has a cupola with lead ogee roof and spike finial. Right side blind with external stack. Left side has single storey privy attached, and door at the left side of the front wing. At the rear, there is a gable end to right and left, each with similar mullion and transom window and ventilator above. Central external stack and 3-light window to right and left. Interior: Not inspected.
