Image: Corbel 40: 'equus dei'

Agnus Dei with the lamb replaced by a horse at the center of the east end. This may be because the horse was so central to Celtic life. The overall symbol may represent the redeeming Christ as part of a visual salvation narrative around the east end.

Kilpeck Church, Herefordshire, England. Constructed in 1140 and famed for its beautifully preserved Romanesque sculpture.
