Doug Monk (in red) with the antique wooden anchor he discovered off the coast of Whidbey Island in January 2008. The anchor is being temporarily displayed and stored at the Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend, Washington, from June 10-30, 2014, until shipment to Texas A&M University for research. Monk believes this to be the anchor of the HMS Chatham, part of Captain Vancouver's 1792 expedition.
