Mid 19th century. Single storey and attic mirrored pair of 3-bay terraced, gabled cottages. Harled with slender stone(?) margins; pointed arch openings. S elevation grouped 3-3, each cottage with door to centre (formerly with pointed arch fanlights) and with windows in outer bays at ground and in gabled, stone, wallhead dormers above. Blank end gables. Lean-to to rear. Vestiges of timber small-pane casement windows. Graded grey slates. overhanging eaves. Harled and coped centre ridge and gablehead stacks; full complement of cans.

Similar in gothic detail, but gabled and later in date than the piend- roofed Rose Cottage, Tobruk Cottage and Carmichael Cottage to SE. A ruinous footbridge lies by the Milltown Burn to S.
