Later 19th century. Single storey 4-bay, rectangular-plan water storage tank, positioned on mound with falling ground to NW and SW. Squared and snecked whinstone with stugged ashlar dressings. Quoins; tails to openings. SE ELEVATION: regularly disposed bays. Boarded shutters to each opening with arrow-slit openings between each bay. NW ELEVATION: as SE. NE ELEVATION: gabled with door to centre, flanked by arrow-slit openings. Slate roof with ashlar coped skews and skewputts; tab at apex of each gable. Gabled and louvred slated vented to centre of ridge. INTERIOR: not seen, 1996.

This is a very simple reservoir design, sited near the highest point in Selkirk parish and appropriately sympathetic to its surroundings.
