SP 1246 PEBWORTH FRONT STREET 5/9 Norton Close

House C17 extensively rebuilt in 1912. Blue lias stone original part, rear extensions in Cotswold stone. Slate roof with West end wall stone stack, 2 ridge stacks, and modern East end stack. Two-storey and attic. South front with renewed stone mullion windows, four 3-light and one 2-light above, three 4-light and two 2-light below, and 2 modern doors. East end section is modern addition. West gable end has original windows with hoodmoulds, single light to attic and 2-light to let floor. Evidence of South front being raised in C17 in gable end. To rear, with parallel West gable is an altered late C18 red brick range incorporating a C17 hoodmoulded 2-light window at 1st floor of gable. Rear built out in 1912, the roof carried down to an 8-light passage window with 2 hipped dormers above and 2-storey gables each side with stone mullion windows. Stone doorcase in angle. Rear roof plain tiled.

Within, substantial original main beams and timber-framing in party wall and upper part of rear wall.
