GV II

House. C.1600, altered in C20. Timber framed, weatherboarded and plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays facing SW with central stack, forming a lobby-entrance, stair tower to centre rear, and late C17 service wing to rear of left bay, with 2 external stacks to left of it. Main house of 2 storeys, cellar and attics, service wing of one storey and attics. 3-window range of C20 casements and 2 more in gabled dormers. C20 half-glazed door with gabled hood. Jowled posts. Chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops. Open well stair from ground floor to attic, with moulded handrail, square newel and serpentine splat balusters, almost all original. Clasped purlin roof. 2 original doors.
