LITTLE MARLOW COLDMOORHOLM LANE SU 88 NE 5/78 Coldmoorholm Cottage 21.6.55 - II House. C16, refurbished c. 1934. Timber framed with curved braces, the ground floor mostly rebuilt C19 and C20 in brick and flint, the upper storey with colourwashed plaster infill to N. and brick infill to S. Old tile roof, rebuilt brick chimneys. 2 storeys, the upper with jettied gable end to road. 3½ bays. Irregular 2 and 3-light leaded casements of c.1934; board doors of same date to N. and S., the N. door with small tiled hood. S. front has later external chimney to front of left bay. Gable to road has upper storey jettied on beam ends, the right end on curved wooden brackets. Stone with worn carving of angel inserted below upper window. Single-storey brick extension to far gable. Interior: ground-floor room at road end has heavy joists and stop-chamfered cross beam; room above, now partitioned, has central truss, formerly open, with curved braces to tie beams, and 2 bays of arched wind-braces. Central ground floor room has stop-chamfered joists and spine beam; far room has longitudinal joists. Curved wind-braces in both far bays. RCHM I p. 232 Mon. 6.
